A day to commemorate the day Filipino’s got their freedom.
One day to thank the heroes who made this celebration happen. A celebration for
us to appreciate the Filipinos who fought for our country’s sake.
Being independent means that no one is controlling you, you
are not depending on someone or something, and you are living freely with no
chains tied to you. That is Philippines now thanks to our national heroes.
It’s
been 121 years since our national flag was first waved and raised. Filipinos
have been living freely for 121 years after bowing to people who made their
lives miserable. Sadly, people nowadays forgot the real meaning of this
celebration and only cares about the things they can do because it’s a holiday.
They don’t know that without this day, Philippines wouldn’t be called a free
country.
This celebration starts with
commending the people who made this celebration possible, the people who we considered
as our national heroes today. We must appreciate the bravery they showed
towards the people who colonized us. The amount of willingness and guts they
used for their goal to be accomplished.
People especially the youth, must
not take this celebration for granted. They must take time to learn when and
how all these Independence Day stuff works instead of burying themselves in the
internet just to get entertained.
Independence day plays an important role in our history because it teaches us a lot of things and one of these is that, Filipinos have to be unified when they are being aggravated already.
