Learning is a Process

I have always been a thinker, but throughout my coursework, I have greatly sharpened my critical analysis skills. Instead of focusing on proposed meanings or biographical background, I have learned to continuously ask "why" on many different levels. I challenge myself to dig into a text as deeply as possible and unpack every detail to develop a satisfying close read. Though going to school is commonly referred to as necessary, I think with many chosen professions, going to a public or private school is not required in order to achieve a certain level of competence.

It is not easy to forget what life is like without the internet. I seem to be locked into the internet, with almost every endeavor I do connected to it. I think this is the major issue with the internet: it has become so useful that it has taken over my life, including countless others. Sometimes, making something better and better gives way to making life situations worse. If I want to write, edit, make music, be entertained, learn, play games, communicate with others, visit new places (at least artificially), to research, to apply for jobs, and more, I use the internet.

I am so glad that we have ICT as one of our subject because we now know some of the essential things that are connected with computer. We are being molded into becoming a more prepared version of ourselves for the future. I am thankful that we have a teacher that has been teaching us with vividness and clarity.

Season to be Jolly

Almost ordinarily, when a special someone celebrates a birthday, what we do
to well-wish that person, offer a present or celebrate the occasion with revelry and fanfare for it to be remembered by the celebrant as a momentous event of his or her life. Not that it is wrong, it is not right to do it on Christmas. God does not want us to celebrate it that way. Christmas is not how you remember it but rather how you live it. It is not about dates. It is about "dating" it.
Christmas has come around once more. It is a season of merry-making and rejoicing – “a celebration of all celebrations” of sorts to commemorate the birth of the most important person in history. But Christmas is not just about the birthday of God's son and that's not also the reason why we celebrate and honor Christmas better than our birthday or any important anniversary in the family. If God really wanted us to celebrate it that way, God would have schemed Jesus' birth in the same fashion we celebrate it today. But He chose a simpler way to do things because He wanted us to celebrate the "essence" not the event.
Every person has his own priorities, his own wants and needs. Some people may choose material things, while others may prefer tangible ones such as love, peace, prosperity and good health among others. No matter what these people wish for these holiday season, what matters most is that the desires of their hearts are granted as long as nobody is hurt, right?
Whichever of these are important to you this holiday season, just remember that it’s the thought that counts and that love is the most important thing in the world. When love governs our hearts and minds, everything will follow and we don’t need to wait for Christmas time to share our love to other people.

SPEAK OUT

It is one of the most pervasive violations of human rights in the world, one of the least prosecuted crimes, and one of the greatest threats to lasting peace and development. We all know that we have to do much more to respond to the cries for justice of women and children who have suffered violence. We have to do much more to end these horrible abuses and the impunity that allows these human rights violations to continue.
Any form of unwanted disruption in the lives of the victim is considered this type of abuse. This kind of abuse tends to happen after the victim has left the abuse situation and is trying to move on with their lives. Therefore, as a result, the partner reacts in this abusive manner. Although there are many other ways violence is inflicted against women, physical and sexual abuse are the most common from an intimate partner.

This violence against women and children has tremendous costs to communities, nations and societies—for public well-being, health and safety, and for school achievement, productivity, law enforcement, and public programmes and budgets. If left unaddressed, these human rights violations pose serious consequences for current and future generations and for efforts to ensure peace and security, to reduce poverty and to achieve the Millennium Development Goals and the next generation of development goals we are discussing.
The urgency of the need to respond to the problem of family violence and the paucity of research to guide service interventions have created an environment in which insights from small-scale studies are often adopted into policy and professional practice without sufficient independent replication or reflection on their possible shortcomings. Rigorous evaluations of family violence interventions are confined, for the most part, to small or innovative programs that provide an opportunity to develop a comparison or control study, rather than focusing on the major existing family violence interventions.
This situation has fostered a series of trial-and-error experiences in which a promising intervention is later found to be problematic when employed with a broader and more varied population. Major treatment and prevention interventions, such as child maltreatment reporting systems, casework, protective orders, and health care for victims of domestic violence, battered women's shelters, and elder abuse interventions of all types, have not been the subjects of rigorous evaluation studies. The programmatic and policy emphasis on single interventions as panaceas to the complex problems of family violence, and the lack of sufficient opportunity for learning more about the service interactions, client characteristics, and contextual factors that could affect the impact of different approaches, constitute formidable challenges to the improvement of the knowledge base and prevention and treatment interventions in this filed.

Keep it Green

Everything that surrounds us is referred to as our environment. It includes living, non living, natural or manmade things. Our natural environment includes trees, bushes, gardens, rivers, lakes, air etc. Ancient humans lived closer to the natural environment and therefore they lived healthier and longer. But today we are surrounded by the artificial environment that we have created for ourselves – buildings, air conditioned rooms, streets, shopping complexes, vehicles emitting poisonous gases, dust etc.
It would hardly require a second thought to conclude that this self made artificial environment of ours is a harmful creation. Not only we are breathing pollution but also doing considerable damage to nature, in our expedition to grow materialistically, further aggravating the situation. The more we move away from our natural environment, the more we move away from health and longevity. In the following essays we will discuss in details, the meaning and significance of environment and how it could be protected.
Man’s insatiable desires to expand his wealth and boundaries have lead to unreasonable deforestation. One of the major effects of deforestation is the increase in the level of the environmental CO2. Cutting down forest add more to the global warming than the factors like cars and trucks combined. Deforestation results in global climate changes and a depletion in bio diversity.
A better environment can make people feel more joyful and can be more beneficial for their lifestyles. Therefore, it shouldn’t be difficult for people to protect the environment and you can do this in many simple ways like Recycling waste, saving electricity, and staying healthy. First, recycling is a main step in protecting the environment, but the important outcome that people should take and accept is the idea of having a cleaner nature.

Children: The Future of Tomorrow

Children are the torchbearer of the future. Hence, every school celebrates this day with various events like quiz, debates, cultural programs like dance, music, and drama. Teachers organize and perform various cultural events for the students.

The Wealth of a nation is not so much in its of economical and natural resources but it lies more decidedly in the kind and quality of the wealth of its children and youth. It is they who will be the creators and shapers of a nation’s tomorrow.
The Children of today will be adults of tomorrow. Today’s leaders and activists. Their quality and personality will determine the kind of destiny that beackons the nation.

It, therefore, become mandatory for every nation and every society to nurture a strong, healthy and intellectual youth. It is the responsibility of the adults to direct the youth in desired direction. The youth of a nation is its power-house. They have boundless stores of energy, will, capability, zeal, and enthusiasm and have the power to mould the destiny of the nation. This infinite storehouse of energy has to be properly moulded and needs to be given appropriate direction. The youth has to train to use their talents needs to given appropriate direction. The youth has to be trained to use their talents and abilities in constructive ways and help in nation-building and strengthening of it.

Values over All

Through the centuries and through interactions with peoples of different cultures, Filipinos have acquired patience, filial piety, close family ties, business acumen, etc., integrating them into their way of life.
Education Secretary Leonor Briones, in DepEd Memorandum no. 161 series of 2019, issued the guidelines on the conduct of this year’s observance of the Filipino Values Month. The FVM, she explained, “aims to mobilize all Filipinos for nation building through the practical exercise of human values in our daily lives as citizens and to awaken all to the power of these values in achieving the individual and national goals.
These values mirror the Filipino people’s rich heritage of history and culture. They manifest the things in life that Filipinos revere. With these values, Filipinos have coped with the vicissitudes of life.
One value that has not been emphasized in our people’s education is Isang dugo, one blood, one race, referring to our common origin in the past. This is one beautiful and endearing value that we must teach our children to help preserve the unity of our nation.

Languages Paved the Way

Celebrating International Year of Indigenous Languages 2019 will help promote and protect indigenous languages and improve the lives of those who speak them.  It will contribute to achieving the objectives set out in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development. The celebration is also expected to strengthen and reinforce the many standard-setting tools adopted by the international community which include specific provisions to promote and protect languages.
In 2016, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution proclaiming 2019 as the International Year of Indigenous Languages, based on a recommendation by the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.
At the time, the Forum said that 40 per cent of the estimated 6,700 languages spoken around the world were in danger of disappearing.  The fact that most of these are indigenous languages puts the cultures and knowledge systems to which they belong at risk.
In addition, indigenous peoples are often isolated both politically and socially in the countries they live in, by the geographical location of their communities, their separate histories, cultures, languages and traditions. And yet, they are not only leaders in protecting the environment, but their languages represent complex systems of knowledge and communication and should be recognized as a strategic national resource for development, peace building and reconciliation. They also foster and promote unique local cultures, customs and values which have endured for thousands of years. Indigenous languages add to the rich tapestry of global cultural diversity. Without them, the world would be a poorer place.
Each year, the global network of UN Information Centres organizes a variety of events to mark UN Day. Activities range from ceremonies, seminars, panel discussions, symposiums to series of briefings for students, art competitions, rallies, film screenings and book/photo exhibitions, media campaigns- including interviews and newspaper supplements- and social media campaigns.

Reflect, Learn, and Adapt

They say that being wise is better than being knowledgeable. Wisdom is  through reflection of one’s experience as well as of the environment. The more we reflect the more we become aware of ourselves. We become mindful of our existence as well as the meaning of life and all the things that surround us.
Image result for reflection cartoon gif          The first few weeks of this grading, brought me excitement and stress. The topics covered each week gave me the opportunity to increase my knowledge in many areas.  Having an interest in every lessons gives me the urge to learn and understand the lesson even deeper. The lessons in ICT this grading was not easy but thankfully with the help of the things around the room during every discussion helped me to enjoy and to study the subject.
The activities that we did was quite hard because some of the instructions are hard to understand but the feeling after doing such gives me contentment and happiness. The amount of fulfillment I feel whenever I finish 1 activity can never be contained. I learned a lot about making an html related documents which I can apply in the near future. I am just so glad that we are learning these kind of things.
Sometimes, you have to look back in order to understand the things that lie ahead. Looking back at our lessons just made me realized that learning is never easy but sometimes you have to learn how to enjoy learning for you to be able to understand the lesson well, while having a little fun.

One Person, Countless Personas

No matter how old we grow, the lessons taught by our teachers can never be forgotten. They build the foundation for our moral values and nurture children with their love and care. This Teacher's day, tell your lovable teachers how much you adore them. Feel proud and honoured to celebrate Teacher’s day.
Teachers are great sources of knowledge, prosperity and enlightenment to which anyone can be benefited for whole life. They serve as the real light in everyone’s life as they help students to make their ways in the life. They are the God gifted people in everyone’s life who lead us towards success without any selfishness. Really, we can call them as builders of the dazzling future of our nation through education. Teachers, sometimes award their students for their great works however sometimes punish them to let them understand that they did something wrong which is bad for their life. They make their students able to differentiate between right or wrong so that they can chose for right one in their life by fighting with wrong.
Teachers understand that all students do not have same capacity to learn in the same way so they try to let them understand in their own way. Teachers are never bad, it is only their way of teaching which is different from each other and makes them different in the mind of students. They only want to see their students happy and successful. A good teacher never loses patience and teaches every student accordingly.
Good teachers are also the best friends of their students who help them in deciding true path in their life. There are many teachers in any school or college but only one of them becomes favourite of any student. Teachers set our goals of education through their collective roles of unique teaching and learning process. Our teachers motivate us to always work in harmony. Our teachers understand the problems of us and deal with us in both ways personally and professionally. They teach us to have positive attitude towards life.
Admiration, devotion, education, inspiration and compassion are what you have. So I give you a toast to you, my teacher, because you deserve to be celebrated. You are the spark, the inspiration, the guide, the candle to our life.

Physical activities make our body active so we people must do some physical exercises once in a while. Playing sports is one example of a physical activity. Sport includes all forms of competitive physical activities or games which, through casual or organized participation, aim to use, maintain or improve physical ability and skills while providing enjoyment to participants and in some cases, entertainment to spectators.

One time to show one's capabilities in sports is through joining the intramurals. Intramurals is filled with different varieties of sports, whether it is an individual or a team sport. Chess, Volleyball, Badminton, and Basketball are ecamples of which. The players get a chance to play a game they love and to give pride to their respective sections at the same time. The purpose of intramurals is also to provide opportunities for leadership, teamwork, and fellowship while participating in the various areas of athletic competition.
Engaging in such activities requires hardwork, perseverance, and commitment. It is not that easy you can miss a lot of academic-related requirements but it's all part of the life of student-athletes.
Booths were also built during the games that also had variations. Wedding booth, Chem Lock, and Love Maze were just some of the many booths that were created.
Intramurals is one of the most anticipated and the most awaited event by the students for they can enjoy it freely because there are no classes. Whatever sport an athlete is playing, the mosf important thing to have is sportsmanship. You cannot consider yourself an athlete if you don't know how to accept defeat.
