The Cure

In this world full of unpredictability, preparedness is all we can do. Natural disasters come whenever they want and do not depend on us. They might come tomorrow, today, or even in the next hour, will you be ready to conquer these odds?
The theme of this year’s Natural Disaster Resilience Month is “Kahandaan sa Sakuna’t Peligro Para sa Tunay na Pagbabago” meaning, being prepared to disasters and being aware to the risks that it can bring must be in the mind of the people so that there’ll be a meaningful change. Drills and seminars play the biggest role in the preparation of these disasters. People must be oriented on how to protect themselves when a real disaster comes especially to the ones who are living in vulnerable places. Though these steps are considered important, still some people tends to not take these steps to preparation seriously and most of them end up being the ones who end up with the most damage.
When disasters come, the time to prepare ends. People must not rely with “No disaster happened today so tomorrow and the coming days will be disaster-free too”. We must continuously prepare for those disasters because it is all we can do. People’s life is the one we’re talking about here, without preparedness, injuries, or worst deaths happens.
Our life is the most precious thing that God gave to us. We should take care of it by doing the right things always. Disasters come and go, but I think the only cure that we have is preparedness.
